Establishing groups allows a Faculty Member more flexibility. Many online activities do not work well when large numbers of users participate at one time. Groups also allow students an opportunity to establish a closer virtual relationship with a few members of the class. This smaller group interaction helps promote a sense of online community.

Control Panel click User Management click Manage Groups
Add Group
Name and describe the group and assign rights

Group description might include the students' names

Typing students' names into the description box will display group members along with the group number for ease of finding the appropriate group.
Typing the names does not add students to a group. Add users is performed after the group is created (see below)

Submit.
