Establishing groups allows a Faculty Member more flexibility. Many online activities do not work well when large numbers of users participate at one time. Groups also allow students an opportunity to establish a closer virtual relationship with a few members of the class. This smaller group interaction helps promote a sense of online community.

  • Control Panel click User Management click Manage Groups
  • Add Group add group
  • Name and describe the group and assign rights

  • Group description might include the students' names
    • Typing students' names into the description box will display group members along with the group number for ease of finding the appropriate group.
    • Typing the names does not add students to a group. Add users is performed after the group is created (see below)
  • Submit.
