Brief step-by-step videos on how to teach with Blackboard
View answers to frequently asked questions asked by NIU faculty and staff.
Two main views exist for viewing the Grade Center. The default view, Interactive, allows inline editing of entries and freezing/unfreezing of columns. The Non-interactive view displays data in a simplified form with no inline editing or freezing/unfreezing of columns. This view is designed for accessibility because it is easy to navigate using a keyboard and is accessible to screen readers.
Interactive View
Notice that inline grade entry is enabled.
Non-Interactive View
When the Grade Center is displayed in the Non-Interactive mode, two changes take place. An additional “Basic View” message is displayed and inline grade entry or modification is not available.

To aid in deciphering the symbols which appear in the Grade Center, a legend is available.
