Sorting the Grade Center

To facilitate Grade Center viewing, faculty, graders and TAs may sort all visible columns within the Grade Center on different criteria.  This section outlines the steps for sorting the Grade Center.

  1. Click the Control Panel button on the left side of the screen in your Course homepage.

  2. Under Assessment, click Grade Center.
    Click Gradecenter
  3. Click the down arrows next to the right of the Sort Columns By label.

  4. Select Sort Columns By to apply.

    Sort Columns by Options

    • Layout Position – columns are displayed in the order in which the user has organized them.
    • Categories – user defined categories or default categories are used to sort the Grade Center columns.
    • Due Date – gradable columns are sorted by the instructor defined due date
    • Creation Date – columns are sorted by the date they were created in Blackboard.
    • Points Possible – points possible are used to sort the columns.
    • Display Name – columns are sorted by their display names.

  5. The columns are sorted.

    Note: Here the columns are sorted in ascending order according to the number of Points Possible.

Showing Users

  1. Click the Control Panel button on the left side of the screen in your Course homepage.

  2. Under Assessment, click Grade Center.
    Click Gradecenter
  3. Click Manage from the Action Bar of the Grade Center.
    Click Manage
  4. Click Show/Hide Users from the Manage dropdown listing.

  5. Place a check next to the users to make visible again.

  6. Click the Show Users button to unhide the selected users.

  7. The selected users are now visible again and their status has been set back to Shown.

  8. Click the Submit button to save the changes.

    Note: A Success message is displayed and the selected users are displayed.

Hiding Users

  1. Click the Control Panel button on the left side of the screen in your Course homepage.

  2. Under Assessment, click Grade Center.
    Click Gradecenter
  3. Click Manage from the Action Bar of the Grade Center.

  4. Click Show/Hide Users from the Manage dropdown listing.

  5. Place a check next to the users to hide.

  6. Click the Hide Users button to hide the selected users.

  7. Hidden users are grayed out and their status is set to Hidden.

  8. Click the Submit button to save the changes.

    Note: A Success message is displayed and the hidden users do not appear in the Grade Center listing.
