Sending Emails to multiple students

  1. Click the Control Panel button on the left side of the screen in your Course homepage.

  2. Under Assessment, click Grade Center.
    Click Gradecenter
  3. Select the students to send an Email to by checking the box to the left of their names.

    Note:
    When sending Email to a group of students or users, the message is sent Blind Carbon Copy (Bcc) so recipients do not know who else received the message.
  4. Click the Email button.

  5. Select the Email option to use from the dropdown menu (see below for details).Select Option

    • Email Selected Users – the message will only go to the selected students or users.
    • Email Selected Users and their Observers – the message will go to the selected students or users as well as their Observers. 
    • Email Observers for Selected Users – the message goes to just the designated Observers for the selected students or users.  (A message does not go to the students).
    • Email Other – this option allows for sending messages to other individuals (not necessarily in the Blackboard course).

  6. Enter in additional recipients to receive blind carbon copies (Bcc) of the message.

  8. Attach a file (optional).

    Check the box if a Return Receipt is desired.
  9. Click the Submit button to send the message.
  10. Submit

Sending Emails to individual students

  1. Click the Control Panel button on the left side of the screen in your Course homepage.

  2. Under Assessment, click Grade Center.
    Click Gradecenter
  3. Find the desired Email recipient and notice that when the mouse cursor is moved over their first or last name, down arrows appear.
    Click on the down arrows to display the menu.

  4. Click Send Email.

  5. Enter in additional recipients to receive blind carbon copies (Bcc) of the message.
