The Export Course feature allows you to download and save a .zip file of your course. The compressed, exported course can later be reloaded into Blackboard. It is important to note that, unlike the Archive Course feature, Export Course does not include any user interactions with the course--it only includes the content of the course. Therefore, Export Course is useful when course materials will be reused at a later time to teach a new set of students. Archive Course is useful to maintain a record of a course after it has been taught.

From the Control Panel:

  1. Click on the Export Course link in the Course Options section. Export Course
  2. Choose the areas you want to export by clicking on the appropriate check boxes.
  3. Submit.
  4. Right click and save as Target
  5. Save zipped file to hard drive or removable storage device.

NOTE: Exporting a course does not remove the original from the system.
