Communicating and Collaborating

The communication and collaboration tools available within Blackboard serve as an integral part of the teaching process. Collaboration tools such as Blackboard Collaborate allow for synchronous (real-time) communication. These real-time tools allow for group meetings, study groups, and even online office hours to take place. Because these sessions can be archived or recorded, it is possible for users to review them at a later date. Asynchronous (not at the same time) tools include: the Discussion Board, Blogs, Journals, and Wikis.  Announcement and scheduling options include other asynchronous tools which provide students with a quick glance of updates and reminders from the course Home Page.
